Yes. Hunter always tries the company’s own career site first. When a job is only posted on LinkedIn, Hunter can apply through LinkedIn Easy Apply, and through Indeed Apply for Indeed. The first time, you sign in to LinkedIn yourself in Hunter’s browser window. Hunter never sees or saves your LinkedIn password.

Why does Hunter prefer the company’s site?

Applications sent straight to the company land in its own hiring system, right where recruiters look. Easy Apply is convenient, but it can be a crowded inbox. So when a LinkedIn listing points to the company’s careers page, Hunter applies there instead.

How does Easy Apply work with Hunter?

  1. Click Apply on a LinkedIn job and approve the tailored resume.
  2. If the job has no company career site Hunter can fill in, you’ll see how to apply options. Choose Let Hunter apply for me.
  3. Hunter opens the job on LinkedIn in its own browser window. If you’re not signed in, LinkedIn’s sign-in page appears. Sign in there yourself.
  4. Hunter clicks Easy Apply and fills in the form from your profile and standard answers.
  5. You check it and submit. Practice mode never lets Hunter press Submit on its own (see Turn off practice mode).

The browser remembers your sign-in, so you won’t have to do step 3 again for a while.

What if Hunter can’t find the Apply button?

Sometimes LinkedIn says the job is no longer accepting applications, or the page looks different. Hunter tells you, and you can use Apply where it’s posted to open the job yourself.

Does Hunter search LinkedIn while signed in?

No. Hunts only read LinkedIn’s and Indeed’s public job pages, slowly and politely. Hunter never signs in to search. If a site starts blocking those visits, Hunter gives it a rest (see Why a job site got paused).

Is this allowed?

You’re applying to a job with your own account, by hand or with help. Still, every site has its own rules, so read LinkedIn’s and Indeed’s terms if you’re unsure. When in doubt, the company’s own careers page is always a safe bet.

Questions people ask

Does Hunter see my LinkedIn password?

No. You type it into LinkedIn's own sign-in page in Hunter's browser window. Hunter never sees or saves it, and the browser remembers you next time.

Does Hunter sign in to LinkedIn to search for jobs?

No. Searching only reads LinkedIn's public job pages, the ones anyone can see without an account.

Does Indeed work the same way?

Yes. Indeed Apply works the same way, and Indeed sometimes asks you to prove you're human first.
