Usage stats and how to turn them off
What anonymous usage counts Hunter and Fetch send once a day, what they never include, and how to switch them off in Settings.
Once a day, Hunter sends a few anonymous counts, like how many hunts ran, so we can see how it’s used and make it better. They come with a random ID, never your name. They never include your resumes, experience, job titles, companies, answers, emails or logins. To turn them off, open Settings > About and untick Share anonymous usage statistics.
What exactly does Hunter send?
Counts only:
- App opens and hunts run
- Jobs found and scored
- Resumes written and forms filled
- Applications sent, mock interviews and prep sheets
- Errors, and the Hunter version
That’s it. If it would tell us who you are, where you’re applying or what you said, it’s not in there. Your actual job hunt stays on your computer (see Where your data is stored).
What does Fetch send?
Fetch does the same with its own counts: calls and minutes, which features were used, errors, the Fetch and Windows version, and whether there’s a graphics card. It never sends your meetings, notes, transcripts, names, contacts, emails or folders. Turn it off in Fetch’s Settings > About. Click What’s sent there for the full list.
How do I turn them off?
- Open Settings > About.
- Untick Share anonymous usage statistics.
Done. No hard feelings. The dog will just have to guess which tricks you like.

Why collect anything at all?
A tiny studio can’t watch over your shoulder (and wouldn’t want to). Counts like “how many mock interviews were finished” tell us which features earn their keep, without us ever seeing what’s inside them.
Where can I read more?
Our Security page explains what stays on your computer and what doesn’t.
Questions people ask
Are usage stats tied to my name or email?
No. They come with a random ID, not your name, email or anything else about you.
Does turning them off change how the app works?
Not at all. Everything works the same.
